Flaky broiled salmon fillets served with a rich and creamy tomato sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your broiler. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease.
  2. Brush salmon fillets with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Broil salmon for 8-12 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky.
  4. While salmon broils, melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  6. Add crushed tomatoes to the saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve the broiled salmon with the tomato cream sauce over the top.

Notes

  • Adjust cooking time for salmon based on thickness.
  • For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Fresh herbs like parsley or oregano also work well.
