Indulge in a rich and decadent chocolate fondue, perfect for dipping fruits, marshmallows, and pastries. This simple recipe creates a smooth and luxurious dessert experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces (about 2 cups) good quality chocolate, chopped (dark, milk, or a mix)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream and butter over medium heat. Heat until the butter is melted and the cream is hot, but not boiling.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the chopped chocolate and salt. Let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to melt.
  3. Stir the mixture gently with a whisk until smooth and well combined.
  4. Stir in the alcohol-free vanilla extract.
  5. Transfer the chocolate fondue to a fondue pot or a heat-safe serving bowl set over a small candle or warming plate to keep it warm and melty.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
  • For a thinner fondue, add a little more cream, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a tablespoon of coffee liqueur (alcohol-free) or a hint of orange zest.
  • If the fondue becomes too thick while serving, gently reheat it over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
