Chocolate nice cream is a healthy, dairy-free frozen dessert. It’s made with frozen bananas, cocoa powder, and a touch of sweetener. This recipe is quick to prepare and a guilt-free treat for chocolate lovers.

  • 3 ripe frozen bananas
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 12 tablespoons maple syrup (or other sweetener, to taste)
  • 12 tablespoons plant-based milk (almond, soy, or oat)

Instructions

  1. Combine frozen bananas, cocoa powder, and maple syrup in a food processor or high-speed blender.
  2. Process until the mixture is crumbly.
  3. Add plant-based milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy like soft-serve ice cream.
  4. Serve immediately for soft-serve consistency, or transfer to an airtight container and freeze for 1-2 hours for a firmer scoop.

Notes

  • For best results, use very ripe bananas (with brown spots) as they are sweeter and blend more easily.
  • You can adjust the amount of cocoa powder and sweetener to your preference.
