Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the pudding has thickened, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
