Old Fashioned Corn Fritters are crispy, golden-brown patties made with fresh corn kernels and a simple batter. Perfect as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add corn kernels and stir to coat.
  3. In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, and melted butter.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
  7. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve warm.
