Ingredients

  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat pita breads
  • Lettuce leaves, for serving
  • Tomato slices, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mayonnaise, sour cream, poppy seeds, Dijon mustard, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Warm the pita breads according to package instructions.
  5. Carefully cut each pita bread in half to create pockets.
  6. Fill each pita pocket with lettuce, tomato slices, and the poppy seed chicken mixture.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Adjust the amount of mayonnaise and sour cream to your preferred creaminess.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
  • This chicken mixture can also be served as a sandwich filling or on crackers.
