Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the thinly sliced beef with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, water, ginger, and minced garlic to create the sauce.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the broccoli florets and red bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet. Pour the prepared sesame sauce over the beef and vegetables. Toss to coat and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • You can substitute other vegetables like snap peas, carrots, or mushrooms.
  • Ensure the beef is sliced thinly for optimal tenderness and quick cooking.
