- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
